Best Crypto Airdrops Guide

Crypto airdrops are a common way of marketing blockchain projects. In the last several years they have proven their worth in establishing new and boosting existing projects. This is the guide for how to properly participate in cryptocurrency projects.

1. Create an Ethereum address

Most crypto projects are built on Ethereum. With an Ethereum address, you will be able to apply for almost all cryptocurrency projects. There are several ways how to create an Ethereum address. The most common is to use MyEtherWallet.com. Here is a comprehensive guide for how to do it.

It is important to always repeat to never share private keys! If you don’t control private keys you don’t own the Ethereum. That is why you never store your coins and tokens on exchanges!

Sometimes projects are using other blockchains with smart contracts. The most commons are Stellar, Neo, or Tron.

2. Set up social media accounts and new email address

In most cases to participate in the cryptocurrency airdrops, you will need social media accounts and an email address. Create a completely new email address with a strong password you have never used before. My advice is to use that email only for the airdrops. It is for safety purposes.

From social media, you will need a Telegram account, Twitter, and Facebook in most cases.

3. Recognize genuine projects

There are a lot of scammers out there. Invest a couple of minutes of your time and quickly investigate the project. Here is a comprehensive guide to how to properly investigate the project.

In a short period, you will be able to decide if the airdrop is worth your time. Basically, you will need to check the project website where you will see which problem they are trying to solve, the team, and the stage of the project (beta, prototype, etc.).

4. Watch for the scams!

You may ask yourself how there can be scams if airdrops are free, right? Well, there is no such thing as a free lunch. As you probably know, you will need to do some simple tasks for collecting the airdrops. Usually, that means following the project on social media. If the project is not genuine it is not worthy of your time!

  1. Never, I mean absolutely never give your private keys!
  2. Be very careful with the airdrops that require KYC. KYC stands for “Know Your Customer”, which means that they are asking for your personal information like passport and driving license. A most common scam in the crypto airdrops. Personal information may be worth several dozens of bucks on the dark web and the damage, if the identity is stolen, might be immeasurable and the day will be ruined for sure.

Sometimes it is really a shame to miss those kinds of airdrops, but research the project before! And provide your personal information only after you are 100% sure that the project is genuine.

That’s it! Now go back to AirdropsMob and collect some airdrops!
